John into the world of wine culture and fine wines. My father Herman Howard Isacs was a 20th century pioneer in the appreciation, collection and promotion of fine wines in the United States as well as a recognized wine expert in France and the rest of Europe.
Exposed to the culture of fine cuisine and wine since early childhood and has traveled to more than 80 countries visiting many of the world’s most renowned wine regions, wineries, distilleries and restaurants. Lived and worked in Greater China for over three decades and is fluent in Chinese and English.
One of Asia’s most experienced wine and spirits judges. Also, one of only a handful of foreigners certified by ISGC & IWGC Organizing Committee and China Wine Commission to judge Chinese baijiu.

Published about 70 bilingual food and wine related books and magazines in greater China – the ISACS Guides, which the “100 Great Wines in China” was awarded “Best International Guide” by “ComitatoGrandi Cru d’Italia at Vinitaly”, an association comprising 120 of Italy’s largest and most important and historic producers. This is the first and only wine book from China to win this prestigious international award, as well as the only award granted to Asia countries in 2011.
