The Toba Aquarium is located next to the Mikimoto Pearl Island, so these two attractions can be visited together. The signature animals of the aquarium are the mermaid (dugong) and walrus performances. There are not many aquariums with mermaids (dugongs), and Toba Aquarium is one of the few.
On the way from Pearl Island to the aquarium, you can see adorable statue of sea otter everywhere.
Arrived at the entrance of the aquarium.
Opening hours are from 09:00 to 17:00. Admission fee is ¥2400.
Upon entering the museum, you will immediately see a model of a whale.
This is not the king crab, just looks very similar to the king crab~ It should be a relative, I guess~
This dolphin loves watching people. It seems to be very interested in many things. As I moved my camera around, its head also moved along with it.
This one is roasted and tastes good~ In Taiwan, this should probably be sold for NT:150… XD
The capybara, the largest rodent in the world, has a body size of approximately 75 to 130 centimeters. It is mainly found in South America. It looks even bigger than a rabbit!
Accidentally, I thought these dolls were rideable.
Mother and baby dolphins, with the mother teaching the little one how to swim.
Mermaid, what a big one!
This sea turtle is very good friends with the mermaid.
Here, it’s not just animals that you can see, but also their performances… Due to time constraints, I only watched one walrus show, which was quite spectacular… This walrus shows off being shot.
walrus: I also got shot for no reason… XD
Actually, there are two walruses performing here. One is performing very diligently, while the other doesn’t know how to do anything except for being funny. It’s really hilarious… So you must come and take a look. Highly recommended! Even if you don’t understand Japanese, you will definitely have a great time laughing here.
The walrus can also do “sit-ups”.
There is a place for performances, and there are penguins nearby. In Taiwan, I have never seen penguins in zoos or aquariums. I never expected them to be so close here in Toba.
There is also a shop here that sells some dolls.
Above is a brief introduction of the Toba Aquarium. We only explored half of it, and I only introduced half of it~ XD So, this Toba Aquarium is really huge~ It is recommended to spend 3 to 4 hours here to fully enjoy it~ I guarantee you will have a fulfilling experience~
