Japan, being a popular tourist destination, has a well-developed cable car system. Many famous attractions have cable cars, such as the Mount Maya Cable Car, the Arima Onsen Cable Car, and the Mount Hakodate Cable Car. The Mount Hakodate Cable Car is quite large and stable, while the Arima Onsen Cable Car, although large, can be a bit intimidating. The Gozaisho Cable Car, on the other hand, is known for its long distance and boasts the tallest tower in Japan.
When I first saw it, I was shocked. It’s so far away~
At the foot of the mountain, this station is called “Yunoyama-Onsen Station” with an elevation of 400m.
Ticket office, a one-way trip costs ¥1200, while a round trip costs ¥2100.
Get ready to enter!
The tallest tower in Japan, 61 meters high.
After climbing up, it’s time to take the cable car. Unlike a Ferris wheel, there’s no need to rush to get on the cable car here. It stays for a while, making it convenient for passengers to board. On average, there’s a cable car every minute, and it can accommodate up to 10 people at a time.
Along the way, you can see the scenery with many inexplicable giant rocks on the mountainside. It takes about 12 minutes to go from the foot of the mountain to the mountaintop.
When we arrived at the mountain, the temperature was only 20 degrees today.
This is a poster, during autumn, there will be mountains full of red leaves here, which is a rare scenic spot in Mie Prefecture.
Because we came to visit, they specially opened up the server room for us to visit. The engineers here are really dedicated. You can’t see any drinks or snacks on their workstations…
Various monitoring systems are in place, with the red light indicating each cable car cabin.
Inside the control room, the cable car speed is adjusted according to the wind conditions. If the wind is too strong, the cable car operation will be suspended for safety reasons.
Next, let’s go up the mountain and take a stroll. It’s also important to have a small shrine up there for blessings.
There is worship and blessings.
The current height is 1212 meters.
Oh, can you still see Lake Biwa from here?
You can see another mountain top from the mountain, and to reach the other mountain top, you can take a personal cable car used for skiing (there is an additional fee for this).
Since we were in a hurry to go to another attraction, we had to leave the mountaintop. I think taking the cable car up wasn’t scary, but going down was the most terrifying, especially for those who have a fear of heights…
This white tower, as mentioned earlier, stands at a height of 61 meters, making it the tallest iron tower in Japan.
There are also people on other cable cars, you know~
So far away~
This cable car is quite stable, and the cable is quite thick.
You can see the city center.
After getting off the cable car, when I went to the nearby store to buy something, I noticed that many celebrities have also visited here, including Tzeng Kai-Syuan. I don’t know her and I haven’t seen any movies she has acted in…
Unfortunately, it’s a pity that there was a reflection. This is Xiaoyou, ah~
Above is a simple experience of riding the Gozaisho Cable Car… Since it’s not the peak season, it may not be as beautiful, but if you have the chance, you should really come and see it during the maple viewing period~
【Peak Maple Viewing Season】The image below is obtained from the official website. Due to its high altitude, the Gozaisho Cable Car offers a sense of depth during the maple viewing season… Different heights offer different landscapes~ If you want to see the mountains covered in maple leaves, it is recommended to visit in late October to mid-November, which is the best time.
