La Vista Hakodate Bay is part of the renowned Dormy Inn hotel group.
I learned about it from a local TV show or a Japanese variety show that featured La Vista Hakodate Bay.
The show mentioned that this hotel won the top spot in Japan’s Best Breakfast popularity poll,
and they even followed a family who had to strategize their breakfast choices before eating.
It was quite exaggerated, but it caught our attention, so we decided to try this famous breakfast ourselves.
La Vista Hakodate Bay
We arrived in Hakodate at night.
The snow in February was deep, and dragging our suitcases through it was quite a struggle
So, the best way to get to La Vista from Hakodate Station is by taxi.
We took photos of the hotel exterior the next morning

Reception facing the main entrance.
Plenty of seating in the lobby.
A small shop is located next to the entrance.

I found it a bit small.

TV and fridge.
Coffee-making equipment, with a hand grinder for coffee beans.

Hairdryer stored in a bag.
Showerhead.
I don’t like this type.
Hotel Breakfast
Actually, we stayed at La Vista Hakodate Bay mainly for its breakfast.
After all, La Vista once held the title of “Japan’s Best Hotel Breakfast,” though I’m not sure who holds the title now.
But it shouldn’t be too far off, right~
The breakfast spread is extensive, with chicken nuggets, croquettes.
Drinks.
There’s also ikameshi, though it’s a small portion.
Not as good as the ikameshi from Abe Shop at “Mori” Station.
You can help yourself to sashimi, and there’s rice nearby to make your own seafood bowl.
They also have squid sashimi and salmon roe.
If you love salmon roe, you’ll probably enjoy this hotel.
There are plenty of grilled items too.
It’s a bit odd to see broccoli here, though?
Maybe they heard me say “the best thing is the broccoli” last time?
I think their pudding is quite delicious.
Fruits.
Seats by the window offer a view of the snowy landscape outside.
The only condiment on the table is soy sauce.
Let’s have breakfast.
DIY seafood bowl,
though I sneaked in a small portion of ikameshi.
The pudding is tasty.
Second round.
Coffee pudding is also good.
After eating, I took a photo of the restaurant crowd.
There were still people waiting to get in when we left.
Receipt, one night ¥19200 / two people.
La Vista Hakodate Bay Accommodation Review
This stay was purely for the breakfast, so we didn’t have high expectations for the room.
This hotel was even featured on a Japanese variety show, which makes it seem quite impressive.
I wanted to see just how luxurious the breakfast at this hotel could be.
However, no matter how much food there is, it still needs to suit your taste.
I found their sashimi to be fresh enough, and there were plenty of cooked dishes, so those who don’t eat raw food can rest easy.
Unfortunately, they didn’t offer raw scallops.
