【Hiroshima Prefecture】A Second Visit to Miyajima

Since this is my second visit to Miyajima, my excitement naturally decreased a bit. However, each visit offers a different kind of scenery, so it’s always worth coming back for another look.

Due to my previous experience of taking the Songda Ferry, this time I decided to take the ferry opposite to JR.

The ferry across from us was the Matsudai Kisen. Based on my experience this time, the Matsudai ferries seemed to be faster. Despite setting off 5 minutes later on the return trip, we arrived at the opposite shore at the same time as the earlier ferry.
It’s quite …

When on a boat, you will also see this place where oysters are likely being cultivated.

I see a big torii gate.

The weather today is gloomy, unlike the last time I came when it was sunny. It’s a bit of a pity.

When taking a group photo, please ask a Japanese person to help take the picture. In this case, a deer standing nearby bit the newspaper from the Japanese person’s pocket and immediately stepped on it. When we tried to take the newspaper away to prevent the deer from eating it, the deer got angry.

Time to indulge in a feast.

Deer: In the name of the divine, whoever dares to take away my newspaper will face heavenly retribution!

The Five-Tiered Pagoda today is dimly lit.

The remaining thing is to take a look at the large torii gate that hasn’t completely receded with the tide.

Deer: Oh no, I’ve been abandoned~

That concludes my second visit to Miyajima. Since I had already visited Itsukushima Shrine previously, and due to limited time plus not wanting to spend extra money, I opted not to go inside this time.
