Why is Ichikura Ramen appearing again?
Wasn’t I in Sounkyo, 60 kilometers away, in the previous article? How did I end up in Asahikawa?!
That’s because Sounkyo was too boring, the weather was hot, and I didn’t feel like soaking my feet.
I arrived at the hotel at 1 PM, but they insisted on a 3 PM check-in.
Moreover, every restaurant in Sounkyo looked unappetizing.
So, I drove 60 kilometers to Asahikawa to eat ramen…
This is Ichikura Ramen~
Currently, I think it’s the best ramen in Asahikawa~

Last time, I had a lot of green onions. This time, I went for something simpler, just soy sauce ramen.

There weren’t many people during the day.

Ichikura Ramen has a spacious interior, with both bar seating and semi-private booth-style tables.

The table setting.

Menu close-up.

Handmade gyoza are quite expensive, ¥450 per serving.

Before long, my special soy sauce ramen arrived~
Soy sauce ramen with three slices of chashu, ¥850.

This is the special miso ramen my wife ordered,¥900.

Extra order of special gyoza.
These are super expensive, ¥450 per serving.

The noodles at Ichikura Ramen are cooked just right, not too hard or too soft, with a bit of elasticity.

As for the chashu, it’s tender and not too fatty, so my wife didn’t find it greasy.
The broth, although soy-based, isn’t too salty…
(After trying the ramen at Keyaki, this flavor is just okay)

The gyoza have a generous filling.
I think the taste has improved since my last visit…
I used to find their gyoza quite ordinary.
Maybe because I’ve had a lot of mediocre gyoza, I now find theirs delicious… XD
(Conversely, I’ve had many bad ones, so theirs seem better… XD)

Finally, of course, I finished everything!!

That’s the food review of my second visit to Ichikura Ramen, traveling over 60 kilometers (not really that far)~
In conclusion,
I personally rate it: ★★★★☆ (4.2 – When I eat bad ramen, I think of this place)
This time, the Ichikura Ramen I had was a very standard soy sauce ramen. Besides the sweet broth, it didn’t have much uniqueness.
However, compared to the other ramen I had on this trip, it was still quite good.
Therefore, I still recommend it to everyone. If you visit Asahikawa, don’t forget to try Ichikura Ramen~
(It’s crowded at night, so be prepared to wait)
