I came to eat Kumagoro Ramen because of the resentment from the previous two times.
Both times, it was full and I was too lazy to wait in line, so I couldn’t eat at this ramen shop and had to go eat somewhere else… (I went to the neighboring Ramenshitennou twice).
However, the Kumagoro Sannomiya branch has already closed, but they are still operating in San Plaza (underground mall).
Since I didn’t feel full after eating the previous meal at Akaman Dumplings, this time I definitely want to eat until I’m full~
Chashu Don Set, just looking at it makes me crave it~
This is a bowl of Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen with a side of Chashu Don.
However, I changed it to miso flavor, priced at 830 yen.
Not long after, the drink was served – it was iced barley tea.
The condiments on the side
Unmissable Free Kimchi
Because he was sitting at the same table as Wisely, he ordered this fried rice (¥550).
This fried rice is truly cooked with each grain distinct and clear…
The fried chicken I ordered costs ¥480.
Generally, the fried chicken at Japanese ramen shops is much tastier than that of Japanese KFC, so you don’t have to worry about any disappointments… unless you go eat at KFC.
Kumagoro also includes lemon slices, so you can adjust the acidity to your liking.
The miso ramen has a pretty rich flavor, but compared to the neighboring “Ramenshitennou”, it’s relatively lighter.
As for the char siu (barbecue pork) portion, you can choose whether you want it to be less fatty or more fatty.
Of course, I chose the less fatty option.
When it comes to noodles, they have a relatively ordinary texture and lack the chewiness or bite.
This is the Chashu Don!
In simple terms, it’s a Japanese braised pork rice bowl.
(It has a relatively high proportion of fatty meat, so if you don’t like fatty meat, please think twice.)
The pork is not braised, but rather grilled and then topped with sauce.
After eating the semi-cooked egg on top, thoroughly mix the grilled meat with the rice, and add a little bit of Kimchi.
I highly recommend this! It’s definitely worth it.

Personal food rating: ★★★☆ (3.5)
Due to the previous full occupancy, I didn’t get a chance to try it.
But this time, I finally had the opportunity and it was truly delightful.
Personally, I highly recommend the Chashu Don.
For just an additional ¥180 when ordering any type of ramen, you get an extra bowl of roasted pork bowl, so it’s quite affordable.
As for the ramen itself, I didn’t find it particularly impressive… it was rather average.
Note 1: San Plaza store does not offer roasted pork bowl
Note 2: There is also a Kumagoro Ramen in the underground shopping mall in front of Kyoto Station, which has nothing to do with this store.
Rating Criteria:
Five stars: Super delicious; after eating, it will make you want to go back for more.
Four stars: Delicious; after eating, you’ll feel satisfied, but it won’t leave a lasting impression.
Three stars: Not bad; if you happen to be nearby, it’s worth a try.
Two stars: Average; if you don’t want to take any risks, you can give it a go.
One star: Not my cup of tea; potential disappointment.
