Regular Animal Chicken Nuggets VS Plant-based Chicken Nuggets

I believe many people, like me, enjoy indulging in a few pieces of fried food. It’s a treat loved by adults and children alike. Although it’s not the healthiest choice, the concern with traditional chicken nuggets is that they often contain antibiotics, growth hormones, and high levels of fat. This worries many parents who fear their children may consume too much. However, plant-based chicken nuggets, made directly from non-GMO soybeans, offer a solution. They mimic the texture and taste of real meat, making them widely accepted. Plus, they provide more high-quality plant proteins and nutrients. Plant-based meat naturally contains less fat, reducing cholesterol intake. Additionally, it’s free from growth hormones and antibiotics, making it a safe choice for everyone to enjoy!

Végé Bon U Plant-Based Chicken Chunks – Hellishly Spicy Flavor

Végé Bon U’s plant-based chicken chunks come in five flavors: Pure Vegetable Original (vegan), Mouth-Watering Spicy (ovo-vegetarian), Sichuan Spicy (ovo-vegetarian), Classic Black Pepper (ovo-vegetarian), and Hellishly spicy (ovo-vegetarian). This time, I’m going to unbox a flavor I rarely eat, which is the manufacturer’s limited edition – Hellishly spicy. Let’s see if it’s really as spicy as they say!

The packaging uses a zip-lock bag, so if you don’t finish it, you can seal it and store it in the freezer.

On the back of the bag, there are also several cooking methods listed. You can choose to cook it in the way that suits your home best!

I roughly counted about 10 pieces in a bag (mainly by weight). The manufacturer mentioned that the future new packaging will be in paper boxes, and the quantity will be increased to 15 pieces without any additional cost!

Before cooking, the appearance looks a bit larger than regular chicken pieces, and it’s also a bit thicker.

The cooking method I use is deep-frying (be careful of oil splatter!). If you’re using an air fryer, I recommend lightly coating it with oil before baking, this will make the crust more crispy.

After frying, the color will be slightly different from that of regular animal-based chicken nuggets, appearing a bit darker.

Eating it while it’s hot is the best. As I took a bite, the aroma of Sichuan peppercorns filled my mouth. As long as you don’t eat a whole piece at once, but take it slow, bite by bite, even those who prefer less spicy food can handle it. For those who absolutely love spicy food, the heat level will definitely be a hit. I accidentally took a big bite and it was so spicy that it knocked me off my feet! It leaves your stomach feeling warm!

Now, let’s talk about the texture. Compared to animal-based chicken nuggets, plant-based nuggets are not mushy but have a firm and elastic texture, with sufficient thickness. They are well-seasoned, without the typical plant-based meat’s gamey taste. They are smooth and delicious to eat. I find them tastier than animal chicken nuggets. If they were plain, I could probably finish an entire plate!

Not only is it suitable for vegetarians, but it’s also great for meat-eaters. In my opinion, it’s even more perfect for kids!
