【Hiroshima Prefecture】Yet another non-stop eating spree at the Omotesando Shopping Street in front of Itsukushima Shrine.

Traveling with the purpose of eating, the Omotesando Shopping Street in front of the Itsukushima Shrine on Miyajima is a bustling marketplace. Along the path, besides numerous souvenir and craft shops, there are plenty of snack bars and restaurants. Therefore, visiting Miyajima means continuing the culinary journey.

Just like my last visit, I indulged in the Momiji Manju from Momijido this time as well.

Besides being able to buy it as a souvenir to bring back to Taiwan.

The highlight is definitely the freshly fried Momiji Manju. I find these freshly fried ones tastier than the regular ones.

Cheese, ¥150, delicious!!

Across from Momijido, there’s a place called Hakataya that also sells Momiji Manju with a wider variety of flavors. However, it’s a bit of a shame they don’t offer fried Manju.

Next up, we tried some buns that we missed last time. These included the Hiroshima beef bun and the Miyajima conger eel bun. You can even spot the famous Detective Kogoro Mori in the bottom right corner.

I bought a conger eel bun for ¥400.

Eating it, I found it to be quite soft and mushy, lacking any real texture (which is to be expected from fish meat). However, the flavor (aroma) was quite good.

Perhaps fish meat isn’t quite suited to be a bun filling after all… XD

Next, grilled oysters, a plate of 2, ¥400.

Add whatever vinegar, lemon juice, or chili powder you want.

This vinegar dressing

This lemon-infused dish is so delicious that it needs no introduction. I can only remind everyone to be cautious of gout attacks!

Next, this fish board, I think it tastes good ¥300.

It was about as long as a Big Bite hot dog.

I forgot who I shared half with.

You can see that there are still tentacles of the squid inside… Sprinkle some chili powder on top, it tastes even better.

Above is the situation of eating and drinking in the shopping street of Itsukushima Shrine. I remember, it was the same last time I came… but the food is slightly different.

Here is the location of Omotesando Shopping Street.
