Nabari is the birthplace of the famous Iga Ninja, Momochi Sandayu (Momochi Tanba), during the Sengoku period in Japan. Due to leading the Iga Ninja to their heyday, their power threatened Oda Nobunaga, and they were ultimately destroyed when Oda Nobunaga led a 50,000-strong army to attack Iga. The hotel I am staying at tonight, Taisenkaku Hotel, is filled with a strong ninja atmosphere. Not only does the hotel display armor from the Sengoku period, but it also showcases the ninja weapons used by Momochi Sandayu back in the day. So, staying here, you must not miss these exhibits!
Ninja Training Village, The Akame 48 Falls in Mie Prefecture
The Akame 48 Falls (Japanese: 赤目四十八滝) is a suburban attraction located in Nabari City, Mie Prefecture. It is a well-known mountain hiking spot and a popular destination for sightseeing. You can reach it by taking the Kintetsu train to Akame Station and then walking 6 kilometers… Of course, if you prefer, there is also a Mie Kotsu bus that takes about 10 minutes to get there… However, the bus schedule is limited, with only 5 trips per day on weekdays and 9 trips per day on weekends and holidays. The fare is ¥340. If you are staying at the nearby hotel, Taisenkaku, they can provide shuttle service for you.
